A BRONZED MODEL OF A SPORTING DOG AFTER JULES MOIGNIEZ
A fine bronzed and patinated spelter metal sculpture of a sporting dog or retriever dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, after the artist Jules Moigniez (1835-1894). The dog could also be described as a gun dog or spaniel, and is shown striding alertly. The top of the base of the sculpture is marked with a “K” within a circle, and the underside of the base is similarly marked.
